NYonTV: Angels in America...

Angels in America is an award-winning (11 Emmys and 5 Golden Globes to name a few) 2003 HBO miniseries. It is adapted from the play of the same name by Tony Kushner. It starred Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Emma Watson, Patrick Wilson, Mary-Louise Parker and Jeffrey Wright. many of which played multiple characters. The first episode drew 4.2 million viewers (I was one of them) making it the most-watched cable show of the year

Fun Fact: The Central Park fountain that is prominently featured in Kushner's play and its film adaptation is officially titled "The Angel of the Waters" and familiarly known as "The Bethesda Fountain." It was installed in 1873 and sculpted by artist Emma Stebbins (1815-1882), who was the first woman to be commissioned to create a sculpture for the City of New York.
