LOVELIST: April Edition...

Well, she finally made it to the Oval Office! (Shouldn't we change the name of the show to PREZ?) but how long will her term last? Will it be the shortest in US History?  I'm tuning in to the biting DC Political comedy every week to find out!

...Shante You Stay!

From Milk Milk Lemonade, to an EW cover,  the Movie Awards hostess, to Talk Show guest, to that picnic with Tina, Julia and Patricia... it truly was the Month of Amy Schumer.  And I was just happy to be Inside it!

Come for the Fried Mormon Funeral Potatoes and stay for the yummy beer, the awesome outdoor space, the music, the fun energy and mixed crowd.  (Bikers, homos and everyone in between!)  A Garage I'd happily park my tush in any time. You'll find it right on Beck Street heading out of town.

"From the beloved novels, Paddington tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young bear from Darkest Peru who travels to the London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says "Please look after this bear. Thank you," and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist."-RT (The delightful Nicole Kidman!)  The movie is super cute, charming, wonderfully fun and bear-y entertaining!  I adored it!

"During the winter of 1952, British authorities entered the home of mathematician, cryptanalyst and war hero Alan Turing to investigate a reported burglary. They instead ended up arresting Turing himself on charges of 'gross indecency', an accusation that would lead to his devastating conviction for the criminal offense of homosexuality - little did officials know, they were actually incriminating the pioneer of modern-day computing. Famously leading a motley group of scholars, linguists, chess champions and intelligence officers, he was credited with cracking the so-called unbreakable codes of Germany's World War II Enigma machine. An intense and haunting portrayal of a brilliant, complicated man, The Imitation Game follows a genius who under nail-biting pressure helped to shorten the war and, in turn, save thousands of lives." -RT  A true hero, I'm happy to have learned his story.

Apparently the Universe just likes me chubby.
Nom. Nom. Nom.

The face of courage.
Way to go Bruce at living your truth (in the global spotlight no less!)
You're going to open hearts and save lives.

"Tim Burton's Big Eyes is based on the true story of Walter Keane, who was one of the most successful painters of the 1950s and early 1960s. The artist earned staggering notoriety by revolutionizing the commercialization and accessibility of popular art with his enigmatic paintings of waifs with big eyes. The truth would eventually be discovered though: Keane's art was actually not created by him at all, but by his wife, Margaret. The Keanes, it seemed, had been living a lie that had grown to gigantic proportions. The movie centers on Margaret's awakening as an artist, the phenomenal success of her paintings, and her tumultuous relationship with her husband, who was catapulted to international fame while taking credit for her work.  Well-acted, thought-provoking, and a refreshing change of pace for Tim Burton, Big Eyes works both as a biopic and as a timelessly relevant piece of social commentary." - RT

No doubt Todrick Hall was no stranger to your Facebook feed this month with his two amazing viral videos making the rounds.  Up first, with the assistance of the fabulous Shoshana Bean, he took on some of your favorite 90's Disney hits and gave them an R&B twist.  A few weeks later, with the help of three other talented Todricks twinners, he mashed up 70(!) Beyonce hits in 4 minutes time.  I like 'em, so I'll put a ring on em!
Watch them HERE and HERE!

i Love!

"Attorney Matt Murdock was blinded in a tragic accident as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. He sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and Daredevil, a masked vigilante at night." -Netflix I'm only a couple episodes in, but I'm already digging it hard.  Bonus points that personal fave Jessica from True Blood, also co-stars!

Sometimes you just need your very own official Anger Translator--
especially if you happen to be the President of the United States of America!
Watch THIS hilarious video from the White House Correspondents Dinner if you missed it!
(Or just watch it all over again!)

The Sugarhouse pit is no more, and a fancy (I really dig the design) flagship Brew Pub has found a home right on the corner!  Good food. Good drinks.  And again, cool decor!

Big Foot...

Well, it finally happened. Baby got his very first sprained ankle, after an unfortunate accident on some wonky stairs that sent me crashing.  Luckily my two furkids were right by my side throughout my ongoing recovery!
