LOVELIST: September Edition...

I've been going to the cabin for years, so when Jake and Garrett asked me to join them for possibly one last trip, I couldn't say 'No'.  After a fun day at Yellowstone and a beneficial "Casey Day" just being in nature, it's just what the doctor ordered.  Even if I didn't see any bears.  Yet again.

Great food. Good friends. Lovely weather. Sunday fun...
Oh and motorcycle rides.
There's a reason the song is called
"I Left My Heart in San Francisco"
#BestTripYet

In World War Z, Brad Pitt must 'traverse the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to destroy humanity itself.'  finally got around to seeing one of the most buzzed about Summer blockbusters, even if it was from the comfort of my living room.  I thought the film was a fantastic and fun popcorn action flick.  (And after reading online the original terrible ending, I'm glad they changed it.)  Plus, WWZ will satisfy your zombie cravings (Mmmmm braaaiiin) until The Walking Dead return in a few weeks.

They blew in like a Hurricane... and stayed in heavy rotation over the past 30 days.  I was in love with their debut album.  This New York City duo are my clearly new artist discovery of the month.

With last year's 30 Rock retirement and Happy Ending's untimely demise, I only have two returning network shows to look forward this Fall Season.  (Although not that the freedom free from the tube is a bad thing).  Still I will always make time in my schedule for the charming Pritchett clan and the Sweetums loving folk of Pawnee.

This stunning Chipotle commercial will make you feel all the feelings.
Watch it HERE.

Since I knew I'd be spending several hours in airports (and airplanes) this month, I downloaded Aisha Tyler's audio book Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation to help pass the time. Let's just say my girl crush on Aisha Tyler continues.  The mistakes are epic and the stories are hilarious; "Crushing personal humiliation, and the personal insights and authentic wisdom she gathered along the way. The essays are refreshingly and sometimes brutally honest, surprising, and laugh-out-loud funny, vividly translating the brand of humor Tyler has cultivated through her successful stand up career." "Riotous, revealing, and wonderfully relatable"Amazon

Living the dream.  One heist at a time.  The Bling Ring is based on actual events, a group of fame-obsessed teenagers use the Internet to track celebrities like Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom and their whereabouts in order to rob them.  It's hard to fathom how the sprees could go on so long (and repeatedly) or just how easy it was for them to do it in the first place.  (I'm pretty sure Paris Hilton doesn't leave a key under the mat anymore)  Oh, and my girl crush on Emma Watson continues to grow as well.

Good Lord, I'm so happy she's blowing up right now.  (Katy, Gaga and Britney who?! Not bad for a sixteen year old!)  I've been hooked on Lorde forever now... [See: May's Love List if you don't believe me] ...but once her full debut album came out this month, the obsession grew stronger I can confidently declare.  'Artist of the Year.'  I see a long career and bright future in store.

Ten years ago...  Myspace arrived.  The price of gas was around two bucks a gallon.  Apple launched iTunes.  Finding Nemo swam into theaters.  Arrested Development and America's Next Top Model debuted...   And I purchased a previously-loved Isuzu Trooper from Low-Book Sales.  Flash forward a decade and this month marked my 10th year of ownership.  It's been an amazing car and has given me minimal trouble, plus all those years without car payments are an added bonus.  Happy Birthday big guy, you've earned some premium gas.

Heidi famously says "In fashion, one day you're in, and the next, you're out."  And while I never technically broke up with Project Runway, the past few seasons, well, it's been almost Out-ish.  Thankfully this season's entertaining cast and creative challenges have helped kept it In.  (But you never know what tomorrow may bring.)   #TeamBradon

Long Way Round just arrived on Netflix Streaming and I'm only a few episodes in, I was instantly hooked.  Who knew that riding a motorcycle across the planet would be such an epic endeavor.  LWD is a documentary series documenting the nearly 20,000 mile journey of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman from London to New York on motorcycles.  They then followed up with a Long Way Down on yet another incredible journey down south. Fascinating stuff!  It's fun to go along for the ride.

No doubt you've seen (or at least heard about) the romantic surprise flash-mob proposal that exploded on the Internet this month. (10 million views and counting!)  It was enough to warm even my cold black cynical heart.  Plus it took place at my local Home Depot.  Just imagine how cool it would have been to stumble upon in person.  Best wishes Spencer and Dustin.
