♥LIST: September Edition...

{1}New Episodes of
Parks & Recreation,
Modern Family
and Happy Endings

Welcome back Leslie, Ann, Andy, Ron, Tom, April, Jerry, Donna, Ben, Chris, Tammy 1, Tammy 2... Phil, Claire, Haley, Alex, Luke, Jay, Gloria, Mitchell, Cam, Lily... Max, Penny, Dave, Alex, Brad and Jane (and the spirit of Li'l Sebastian.) I missed you this Summer!

{2}The Help
I took in a post-work matinee of The Help this past month, after my first choice Drive's show- times didn't work with my schedule. The movie has been around for weeks and I'd heard nothing but positive reviews, all which turned out to be true. Based on the best selling novel, it is the story of a group of maids who help a young writer tell their story of living and working in the segregated South. The Help was inspiring, moving, touching... and funny. It also reminded me about our country's ugly past, and the prejudices that we've overcome... and the ones we have yet to. (Just because a majority of people believe something, doesn't make it right!) It takes courage to stand up to make a positive change in this world. And I'm thankful that there are those brave enough to actually do it. If you haven't already, you must see this movie!

{3}FrankMusik's Album:
Do It In The A.M.

Even though Frankmusik's sophomore album only dropped on September 27th, you wouldn't know it by the number of plays it's already racked up. I absolutely love the new indie-electro-pop tunes! Sadly, I was unaware that he also opened for Erasure in Salt Lake City that very same day, and consequentially missed a chance to see him perform live. Just think of how much more rad that would have been! Regardless, even just coming out of my speakers, it's another Win from one of my favorite new artists! I'll be playin' it in the A.M... and the P.M!

{4}Bridesmaids on DVD
If you have any doubt just how much I love this movie, comes this fact: Bridesmaids is the first DVD that I have purchased this year... and it's now October! It's just as good as it was on the big screen, if not better. At home you get all kinds of hilarious extras, in addition to the side-splittingly funny comedy with a huge heart. Back when it came out in May I gladly said, "I Do" and this month I got to renew my vows.

{5}Spotify
I'm pretty new to Spotify-- but already pretty addicted (and admittedly I'm still just figuring it all out!) As I learn more about its capabilities and use it to it's full potential, I will enjoy a world of music even more! Millions of tracks any time you like. Just search for it, then play it. Help yourself to whatever you want, whenever you want it. What's not to love?

{6}Brains Out
by Caotico & Tove Styrke

My friend Nike turned me onto this song this month, and it became an instant hit in my house. Swedish Tove Styrke teamed up with Caotico to record this fab track. Since it is not yet available through US iTunes, [sad face] I just have to patiently wait for his famous Hipster Relief playlist. (Hint, hint!) So, for now you can just check it out on Youtube HERE and replay, replay, and replay again... like I've had to do!
*Contains some lovely nasty lyrics, but you know how I like those. You've been warned.

{7}ANTM: All-Stars
Ms. Banks draws me in just when ANTM was on my TV show chopping block, to make room for new and fresh shows. She brought back some of our favorite fierce former competitors for an All-Star edition. (Team Kayla!) Damn you Tyra!! Breaking up is so hard to do, but Top Model gets another guilty-pleasure pass, for at least one more season anyway. Glee and The Office might not be so lucky.

{8}Tonya & Conrad's Wedding
Congratulations to my beautiful BFF Tonya and her handsome new hubby Conrad! It was an honor to be included in your special day as one of your Bride's Man. It was a wonderful wedding weekend. Three jam packed days of rehearsals and rehearsal dinners and ceremonies and luncheons and receptions and open houses, oh my!... and lets not forget about a few open bars! (a special Thank You on that last one!) I wish you both a long and happy life together. In case you missed it, scroll down for a full wedding recap below.

{9}Paul
Fugitive, celebrity, slacker, joker, alien. This month I finally got around to checking out Paul on DVD (after failed attempts to actually see it on the big screen this past Spring). Two British comic-book geeks traveling across the U.S. encounter an alien smart-ass outside Area 51. It boasts an impressive cast, including Love List All-Star Kristen Wiig. Seriously... lurve her! If there are any candidates for second movie purchase of the year, this might just be the front runner. That just goes to show how much I enjoyed it. Rent it tonight, and don't forget to pick up some Reese's Pieces while your out.

{10}David Guetta's Album:
Nothing But the Beat

Anyone that can get me to like a Chris Brown song (trickery!) earns a spot on my Love List. Seriously, the whole album is fantastic and Nothing But the Beat is a perfect booty shakin' addition to my cardio workout playlist. Another job well done Mr. Guetta!

{11-12}Raising Hope
and Up All Night

Babies are the new..... uhm, whatever was really funny last season.

{13}That Moon Song
by Gregory Alan Isakov
I just love this song.
Thanks Jeff for the recommendation.

Actually, the whole album is great, check out
This Empty Northern Hemisphere on Spotify today!

{14}Zooey Deschanel
I'm still not 100% sold on her new sitcom, The New Girl.
But I'm always sold on her! Simply Adorkable!

{15}DADT Repeal
Supporting the troops means supporting ALL the troops that are out there fighting for your freedom and rights (even if they don't have all the same rights as you.) I especially thank those that are doing just this thing, and can now live proudly for who they are. We've come a long way, but still have a long way to go. One little victory at a time. But we'll get there.

9|11...

It's strange that ten years can seem like such a long time ago--
but it can feel like it was just yesterday at the same time.

Just Married...

September 4, 2011 | My dear friend Tonya married her sweetheart (and baby Daddy) Conrad, on a gorgeous Sunday morning. I had the honor of being asked to be one of her Bride's Men; along with pals Jake and Garrett... and Conrad had his Best Whoa-Man, Jenn as well. (This wasn't your standard Utah wedding, to say the least!) The happy couple said their I Do's at Log Haven, up Millcreek Canyon, with the stunning Wasatch Mountains as a background. And the party didn't stop there. Between the rehearsal dinner, wedding, luncheon, reception and open house-- this was a full fledged weekend extravaganza! And they deserved it! Tonya and Conrad, I wish you a lifetime of happiness, joy, hot sex (!), good health, laughter and oodles of happy family memories. Please enjoy a few snapshots (that I mostly stole from Tonya's Facebook. Thanks Kenny and Rick!) It was a weekend that I'm sure we'll all remember. Oh and for anyone getting married in the future, a Photo Booth is required; a wedding essential!

Always a Bride's Man.....

Fancy Me.

Artography by Kami...

I hope to get my hands on more of the professional pictures taken by Tonya and Conrad's wedding photographer. From the few that I've seen so far, she does great work. Let's just pray that she snapped a few salvageable shots of yours truly (and is also a Photoshop wizard; the slimming tool)... in the non-professional ones, I wasn't that lucky.

Stay tuned. More to come!

Meet Me In The Photo Booth...

Tonya and Conrad rented a photo booth for their wedding luncheon and reception. I've always had a fascination with photo booths. (They really are my favorite type of booth! I blame Amelie!) Anyway I was able to capture some fantastic moments with the bride and groom, with the wedding party and with my good friends. It was a blast!
