LoveList: February Edition...

Let's see how draggy I can make this... No T, No shade to all the other programs out there, but the best TV show in the universe is back bitches!  And I'm living and gagging for the newest batch of queens on Season 6!  Several strong contenders, but early favorite standouts include Milk, Bianca del Rio and BenDeLaCreme. Oh-Kay hunty?!  I can't wait to see all their creative uniqueness, nerve and talent each and every Monday night for the next few months. Werq Kittens!

Enough Said is one of the most charming, sweet, funny and lovely movies I've seen in a long time.  Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the late James Gandolfini have amazing chemistry on screen in this grown-up's Romantic comedy.  Do yourself a favor on date night, and check it out...enough said.

New Music Discovery of the Month: Part 1...

"Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, may be a pretty lady who sings, but she is to a standard coffee shop warbler what tigers are to house cats.  Her self-titled album St. Vincent, is a revelation: bracingly smart, slyly subversive, and sonically unforgettable." -EW

My favorite tracks include:  Digital WitnessRattlesnake, Birth in Reverse and Psychopath.

Latest app addiction for your hand-held device.
(Just don't challenge me to anything Math or Harry Potter related!)

It's the new television show that everyone is talking (and raving) about... and for good reason. Hollywood A-listers Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson star in this much buzzed about HBO crime drama.  I'm half way through season one and excited to see how it all unfolds. Between this and his win for Best Actor in Dallas Buyers Club, McConaughey is on a roll this year. Alright, alright alright!

I should have my card taken away for only just learning about the hilarious 2003 camp comedy Girls Will Be Girls, featuring the iconic Coco Peru and friends.  Thanks to Netflix I've already watched it several times now.  A rude, wicked and outrageous tale of three actresses and their collective and personal trials and tribulations within (and without) the Hollywood machine.  Too many new favorite movie quotes as well!   Thanks Charles for the awesome recommendation! You're my sister!

"In the hilarious Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and Other Concerns), Mindy (you know, Kelly Kapoor) invites readers on a tour of her life and her unscientific observations on romance, friendship, and Hollywood, with several conveniently placed stopping points for you to run errands and make phone calls. Mindy Kaling really is just a Girl Next Door—not so much literally anywhere in the continental United States, but definitely if you live in India or Sri Lanka." -Amazon

New Music Discovery of the Month: Part 2...
Too True, Girls power!

Favorite tracks include:

In order to gain influence over their North Carolina district, two CEOs seize an opportunity to oust long-term congressman Cam Brady by putting up a rival candidate. Their man: naive Marty Huggins, director of the local Tourism Center.  I haven't laughed this hard during a movie in a long time!   Galifianakis vs Will Ferrell. The Campaign gets my vote!

I first heard this song during the closing credits of Looking.
I was instantly obsessed with it.  I still am.

I said a hip hop, Hippie to the hippie, The hip, hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it To the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogie, To the rhythm of the boogie, the beat. Now, what you hear is not a test - I'm rappin' to the beat, And me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feet. See, I am Wonder Mike, and I'd like to say hello, To the black, to the white, the red and the brown, The purple and yellow. But first, I gotta Bang bang, the boogie to the boogie, Say up jump the boogie to the bang bang boogie, Let's rock, you don't stop, Rock the rhythm that'll make your body rock. Well so far you've heard my voice but I brought two friends along, And the next on the mic is my man Hank, C'mon, Hank, sing that song!...

Momma Ru is always sharing words of wisdom with the children ("If you can't love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?") so I decided to pick up her book Workin' It: RuPaul's Guide to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Style.  She also dropped her latest amazing album Born Naked this month as well.  Probably her best one yet; it's perfect for the gym!  And gurl, did you hear about the brilliant way she shamed Internet music stealing trolls? G-E-N-I-U-S!  Between the tunes, the pages, and of course the Race... RuPaul is the Queen.  LOVE Ru!  Can I get an Amen?

Pour me another pint! 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by Gary King, a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub - The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries.

Flashback February 2014, Things Week...

Last year we celebrated Flashback February: Friends Week, but I'm sharing a few snapshots of my most favorite keepsakes this time around.  Casey's Most Memorable Mementos... THINGS WEEK is here.

 "Bear" and "Dog"

I never officially named them, but we've been together since I was born.

In Kindergarten I got glasses.
These glasses.

When I was four years old I fell down my babysitter neighbor's stairs. It wasn't only until later discovered at dinner (when I couldn't pick up the spoon) that I had broken my arm. I can't believe that my arm once it in such an itty bitty plaster cast.

The Care Bear mural painted on my childhood bedroom wall.

My Mickey ears from my very first trip to Disneyland in 1984.

The baby blanket given to me by my Birth Mother.

What child wouldn't love a customized pair of bell-bottom overalls?!
