Love List | April Edition...

A TRIP TO BRAZIL, FUNNY FRIENDS AND 11 MORE THINGS
THAT SHOWERED AWESOME-SAUCE ALL OVER MY APRIL

1|BOSSYPANTS BY TINA FEY
(AUDIO BOOK)
I've been eagerly anticipating Ms. Fey's book for a few months now. I was going to pick up a copy on it's release date, until a friend suggested I buy the audio book instead. (Available on iTunes!) Totally the way to go! This option was preferable because (1) I'm not a big reader, I tend to doze off more often than not, and (2) because Tina Fey herself, is the narrator. So in a way, its kinda like your BFF Tina Fey is coming over to your house to make you laugh remembering funny stories from her youth, dishing on Sarah Palin and how she (spoiler) almost died on her honeymoon. Bossypants is completely entertaining and will leave you laughing out loud(!!) but what else would you expect from the mind of the Queen of Comedy? Lets just hope she pens a follow-up soon!

2|HAPPY ENDINGS
This ABC sitcom only debuted a mid-month, but it instantly skyrocketed onto my Must See TV List. It's like Friends 2.0, only funnier! The show follows six pals Dave, Alex, James, Brad, Max and Penny (who is easily my favorite!) If I know one thing, I know a good TV comedy when I see it (See: Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, The Comeback, Better Off Ted, Flight of the Concords... and so on) So heed my suggestion and add this to your Tivo, It's simply uh-mazing and by the end will leave you feeling very Happy that you did.

4|LADY GAGA'S BORN THIS WAY
THE REMIXES PT. 1 AND PT. 2
When Mother Monster released not one, but two albums of 'Born This Way' mixes, I knew they'd both find a home on to my iPod, and rightly so. If you know me I j'adore a good remix. I just didn't realize how MUCH they would be played-- and actually assist in upping my calorie burnage. They are PERFECT cardio tunes; the beat is to die for (at least elliptically speaking.) My favorite is the Dada Life remix, and is blasting my ear buds the most. So download today and get moving-- cuz baby you were born (to sweat) this way!

5|PRECOR CROSS-RAMP MACHINE
This month, my home-away-from-home-away-from-work was at my local 24 Hour Fitness [See: last month's List.] My calorie burning equipment of choice was this elliptical machine. After buckets of sweat, miles of cardio and a well worn Gaga iPod play list-- I'm not rocking my Summer bangin' bikini bod just yet, but I'm well on my way. So plan on seeing me here for the foreseeable future. One day I'll send this machine a Thank You card.

6|JIMMY JOHN'S iPHONE APP
The food plan I'm following allows me to enjoy one 'free day' a week. The majority of those Saturdays were spent enjoying a delicious Jimmy Johns sandwich-- for either lunch or dinner. (Mmmmm! Bread! Cheese! How I've missed thee!) Whether at the drive-through or ordered with this handy app, the result is the same... a freakishly fast sandwich and a happy tummy.

7|MAKE SOME NOISE MUSIC VIDEO
BY THE BEASTIE BOYS
This new music video is flat out E-P-I-C! The Boy's latest music video for Make Some Noise (which is part of a short film called Fight For Your Right Revisited) is jam packed celebrity cameos. So, to help make sure you catch them all I've thrown together a super star check list. Can you spot them all-- and if you blink you might miss a few! Rashida Jones, Elijah Wood, Seth Rogan, Danny McBride, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, John C. Reilly, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Jason Bateman, Amy Poehler, David Cross, Chloe Sevigny, Kristen Dunst, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Orlando Bloom, Jack Black and Steve Buscemi.

Watch it HERE. (Were you a good celebrity spotter?)

8|REESE'S PIECES EASTER EGGS
It's a good thing that Easter only comes once a year.
Otherwise we'd have a big problem, emphasis on big.

9|RIO
I'm a Pixar snob, but other studios can put out some quality entertaining animated features too. I took Brylee to go see Rio in 3-D during our Uncle/Niece sleepover party this month. The story was cute and the characters were fun-- but in my opinion the star of the show was the city where the story was set. Rio di Janero (at least in animated form) is absolutely gorgeous. I wonder if Brazil's tourism department is aware of this great marketing tool-- well minus the pesky exotic bird smuggling problem. Someday I want to go to there, and have a cartoon to thank for putting it on my radar.

10|ORGAN TRAIL
If you are a child of the 80's (like myself) then you remember spending hours in your Middle School computer lab playing Oregon Trail. (You died of dysentery! Nooo!!) I was obsessed! Ah, simpler times. So imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this online Zombiefied version of the hit game. "Organ Trail." Rather than heading west in your covered wagon, you are taking your wagon (only, the station variety) across the country to escape the outbreak of the living dead. It is all very authentic to the original's crude-yet-awesome graphics and will leave you feeling very nostalgic. Only now you have to deal with the (high) risk of zombie bites, in addition to avoiding typhoid, broken bones and exhaustion. But somethings never change, it's still the best to be "the banker." Play it HERE.

11|THE CAVE BY
MUMFORD AND SONS

This song has been on my playlist for a while now. I'm not new to the bandwagon-- but has sadly got overlooked when I published my Love Lists each month. It could be read as a slight insult, but when you view it another way, see it as a compliment to how great this song is. Months of play, and I've yet to tire of it. Mumford and Sons finally getting their moment in the spot light--or at least a mention on a blog that a few people browse.

12|HOT IN CLEVELAND: SEASON 1
Truthfully, I always thought this made-for-TVLand sitcom looked a little cheesy but when it became available on Netflix Instant Watch I gave it a chance. I was actually pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. It is just a fun silly show. I've learned that one can never deny the charm of Betty White, it goes without saying that she's the true star-- but her three other cast members hold their own against the comedy legend.

13|PUREX COMPLETE CRYSTALS
LAVENDER FABRIC SOFTENER
I cannot emphasis how much I love clean sheet day!
And now I love it even more!!

Happy Easter...

I found my childhood Easter basket in my parent's basement last weekend. It looks pretty much the same now as it did all those many years ago, and seeing it brought back a rush of holiday memories.

Sleep Over...

Last week I mentioned to Brylee that when she didn't have school (thinking Summertime) she could come to Salt Lake and have a sleep over. I promised a movie and going clothes shopping, I knew she was sold. Five minutes later, she called and informed me she was on Spring Break all week-- so I penciled in Friday for our big date. She was so excited, she called every day telling me how many days until Friday. When it finally arrived her mom dropped her off and we headed to Rio in 3D. After which we made our way to Target for her to pick out a couple outfits. Once we got home, we enjoyed Toy Story 3 and plenty of sweets. What I lacked in sleep that night (sleeping with a 5 year old=not fun) was made up with a great weekend with my niece. She's already calling for round two... coming this Summer.

Pre-Easter Weekend: Pt. II...

I must not have gotten my fill of coloring Eggs on Saturday, because I did it all over again on Sunday night with my girls. It's debatable on which party had more fun, but I'm guessing the latter... and also messier. Brylee and Sadee had a great time though. As did I.
