Love List: January Edition...

Two James, Three Wives and 15 Other Things
I'm Digging This Month.

1. America
It feels good to be a proud American again.
Change has come.
It's about time.

2. HBO on Sunday Nights
Finally... finally... finally... Big Love and Flight of the Conchords are back! Oh how I've missed my favorite polygamist family and favorite Kiwi-folk-rock duo. Sadly I no longer have HBO, which is why this entry is sponsored by my parent's DVR. I may not be "presint" when they take roll on Sunday night, but I'm still able to catch my TV faves, better late than never.

3. Anderson Cooper
I've been a big fan since the days of Channel 1 News back in High School. So this crush is nothing new, it's just blossomed with time. He's the most adorable charming and smartest news anchor out there. And don't get be started on his endearing ah-shucks laugh, that chuckle just seals the deal.

4. EW.com Videos
We all know I'm a fan of the magazine Entertainment Weekly, but their website is just as fun. They make the best entertaining videos. Even though I'm not an American Idol fanatic, their recap/spoof Idolatry and the America's Next Top Doll (Ha!) get me rolling! It's nice to know that people have so much fun at work. So if you're a pop culture junkie like me, head over to ew.com now for your fill of Slezak, Baldwin, Sodafloat, Princess Thursday and of course Explorita. Prepare to laugh. "Doolittle Out."

5. Kate Nash
All credit goes to Nike (the person, not the shoes pictured below) for introducing me to my newest obsession. I've already listened to Merry Happy, Mouthwash and Foundations over a dozen times in the last two days. Thanks Nike!

6. Nike Terminators
There was a dude wearing a pair of retro red and white ones while setting up the Adele stage. Both Jake and I were hooked, even waiting until after the show to ask where he got them. If they weren't so elusive to find, but I will track down a pair (or more) in my size. That's a promise!

7. James Franco
First Freaks and Geeks, then Pineapple Express and finally Milk just prove he's one of Hollywood's most talented young stars and one of my favorite new actors. Oh and he's pretty easy on the eyes too. That never hurts. Sometimes it helps.

8. Adele 1988
This isn't her first trip to the rodeo, she was #1 on my last month's Love List. But Adele remixed... it earned a second mention. Plus seeing this British bird live in concert earned her even more points, she deserves a permanent spot on the List.

9. Malia and Sasha Obama
The first daughters are the absolute cutest. Whether it was delightful Malia's constant picture taking (oh, how I can relate) or cutie Sasha joyful bounce as she walks, every time I see these two they put a smile on my face. (And I don't think I'm the only one.)

10. Touchscreen Phones
So if you can't have an iPhone, the Samsung Eternity is the next best thing. It was finally time to say adios my old mobile and also retire the bad habit of texting while driving. You'll just have to wait until I hit a stop light. I love my new cell phone!

11. Milk
I'm not the biggest Sean Penn fan, but I'm totally hoping he gets the Oscar for Best Actor. I must admit I didn't know a lot about Harvey Milk prior to watching the flick, but he is now a personal hero of mine. It's one of the best movies of the year, and yes a real tear-jerker.

12. Slacker.com
My new favorite Internet radio website. Other than Facebook, it's how I make it through the work day.

13. iMac Welcome Video
From the second I turned on my new computer, I was in love. This video greeting at start up just proved why Macs are so rad. I had a grin on my face the whole time. See it HERE. You are 'Welcome'.

14. James Morrison
I wasn't that familiar with him until he opened for Adele but I was instantly hooked. He has such an amazing voice, it was easy to see why she asked him to tour the USA with her. You can't go wrong with boys with accents. Even better when they sing amazingly well!

15. Real World Brooklyn
Guilty pleasure confession time. I used to be a big Real World junkie (don't get me started on Real World New Orleans Danny!!) but that all changed after the skanky Vegas season. It's been down hill ever since. However with the promise of New York City which I recently visited, and not one-- but two locals I'm pleasantly surprised and actually enjoying the new batch of roommates. Yes, even Chet.

16. Pepsi's New Look
Pepsi's past marketing always seemed a little tacky to me, but the new logo and design campaign makes me very happy. So clean, crisp and delicious. My Pepsi Max now looks great in the fridge next to my Coke Zero. I don't discriminate.

17. Buddy Holly Glasses
Right now I'm a poser, but I soon hope to change that.

I Heart Adele...

Jake and I went to the Adele concert tonight. (Garrett wasn't able to join us.) After a very foggy commute and waiting in the wrong linen we were two of the last people inside... but we still managed to make it down to the front. James Morrison opened, I wasn't that familiar with him, but he's since been added to my iPod; very sexy passionate voice. Grrr... Then the ultra-sexy-while-being-cute-as-a-button-20-year-old-Brit Adele took the stage. Jake and I went nuts singing every song. I think we were two of her biggest fans. It must be noted that she has a very diverse fan base everyone from children to grandparents. Totally random crowd. She put on a great show and promised to come back to the states soon. She better win som Grammy's next month. She's nominated for four. If you get a chance in the future, check her out. You'll see me there! Oh and also, I happened to become obsessed with Nike Terminators tonight. A great night on so many levels!

A New Day Has Come...

I took the day off to witness history in the making. I had friends both in Washington DC and in New York for the inauguration ceremony; I figured my couch in comfy pajamas was the third best choice. From sun up to sun down it was great to see change finally coming to America. I mean almost 2 million people attended with not a single arrest. Think about that. You can't attend your kids soccer game without the police showing up. I'm proud again to be an American. And it feels great!

I'm Caught Up...

I'm finally caught up with my delayed posts from the past two weeks. Scroll down to see what you may have missed. From here on out I'll be much more on time. Promise.

Back in Business...

You may have noticed that I've been a bad blogger. Well I'm happy to report that Blogspot is no longer blocked at work. Phew. I can finally finish up my Christmas posts seeing as it's nearly mid January. Ready... set... blog!
