Since we didn't have a rental car we made good use of SF's public transportation system. I got to have my first experience with a subway (the 'Muni') and I quite enjoyed it. Other than figuring out the passes and making sure we had plenty of quarters, it was very convenient. The stop was right outside the hotel, as you can see from the photo below.
