While in San Fran we stayed at the historic Hotel Whitcomb. It was near the Castro and theater district. It was very convenient and right next to the Muni stop. The room was comfortable, but had the oddest shaped hotel bathroom I've ever seen.
Hotel Fun Fact: After the 1906 earthquake ruined the city, the hotel served as San Francisco’s City Hall from 1912 to 1915. Even though we did not do this, curious guests can arrange a tour of the old jail cells in the basement.
