LOVELIST | November...

When your current reigning drag queen super-star comes to town, bringing her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and her talent... you head to the club, splurge for VIP tickets, Purse first

I just started the new HBO series Westworld as the month was winding down.  My newsfeed was full of friends who were obsessed with the show; and only a few episodes in I can already see why. I went in blindly not really knowing what it was about... which I kind of like, if I’m being honest.  Nice being surprised.  If you want a spoiler teaser primer, then watch the trailer HERE.  And then jump on the (covered) bandwagon with us already.  Yee-Haw!

Australian electronic duo, Empire of the Sun has been on a loop for practically all Autumn at my house, as I patiently waited for their new album’s November drop.  (As evident from their Love List shout out last month!)  And when that day arrived, it did not disappoint.  Favorite Tracks Include:  High and Low, Ride, Friends and Way to Go.

When you get an invite from friends to join them for an afternoon of bowling, my first instinct was to ask how good they were. (It has been approximately a decade or so since I strapped on ol’ bowling shoes, after all, so I'm a bit rusty.)  Thankfully Greg lied and claimed ‘below average’ so I agreed.  Truthfully one of them brought their own bowling ball and the other used to be on a bowling league team.  Regardless of the fib, it was for the greater good and I had a blast at an alley I didn’t even know existed before.  Bonwood, I’ll totally be back.  Striiike!!  Okay… Spare!

A misplaced sausage and his savory friends embark on an existential adventure through the aisles of a massive supermarket in the animated, raunchy Sausage Party.  As the store's annual 4th of July sale draws near, the perishable pals must return to their rightful places on the shelves before the customers come flooding in to fill their carts, while striving to discover the truth about their existence. Offensive, yes. Hilarious, yes.  Thought-Provoking, surprisingly yes!  Now, Let’s Eat…?

It seems like I’ve been waiting for some new tunes from the Canadian electronic band Dragonette forever now.  And hooray-hoorah some finally arrived, with the debut of their fourth studio album Royal Blues.  Plus they’re coming to town next month and I can’t wait to see them live!  Favorite Tracks Include: Lonely Heart, Sweet Poison, Secret Stash and Darth Vader.

You may or may not know that I kinda love cats.  (Oh hai Mit and Mo!, Daddy Loves You!)  So when I stumbled on this documentary called The Lion in Your Living Room on Netflix, you know I had to check it out.  Mit also seemed to be enthralled with it as well, as he couldn’t keep his eyes off the TV.  Mo on the other hand, well that lion in my living room opted for a nap instead.  Available to watch online HERE.

In the latest entry in Marvel’s ever expanding cinematic universe Doctor Strange, we follow a former neurosurgeon embarking on a journey of healing, only to be drawn into the world of the mystic arts.

I discovered another culinary delight in Salt Lake this month; Avenues Proper.  I enjoyed it so much I went twice within one week. Back-to-back Saturday brunches with amazing company of some great friends from both near and far.  Check them out when you’re feeling hungry (and thirsty), I know I’ll be back!

As the promo promised, you are cordially invited to a high class dinner party, that just got a little Higher. This VH1 BFF Cooking Show gave me all the feels this month. Martha and Snoop’s adorable opposites-attracts chemistry is undeniable. Serious Squad-Goals, fo' sure Fo’ Shizzle!  Now, Let’s Eat!

In this charming and funny British comedy, Chewing Gum follows Tracey Gordon.  A religious, BeyoncĂ©-obsessed twenty-something who is fast finding out that the more she learns about the world, the less she understands. (Available on Netflix)

QUICK, FOR A DOLLAR:  WHO IS THE FUNNIEST COMEDIAN RUNNING AROUND WITH A MICROPHONE ON THE STREETS OF NEW YORK CITY WHILE OFTEN TIMES FLANKED BY SOME A-LIST COMPANIONS!?   BILLY ON THE STREET JUST CELEBRATED IT’S 5TH(!) SEASON DEBUT.  WHY AM I YELLING?!
I love it when Salt Lake ends up being a pit stop when friends are traveling through out the west.  This time I was happy to host my good friend Rusty as he made the long drive on a road trip back home for Thanksgiving.  It was the third time this I actually got to see him this year, and it’ll be four, if the weather holds out for his journey back home!  Fingers crossed Mother Nature. Cooperate now, ya hear!

Is this considered a guilty pleasure favorite album, because even if it is, I was proudly totally digging it all month long.  Joe Jonas and Co. had me DNCEing and grooving out to their recently dropped album.  Favorite Tracks Include: Doctor You, Blown, Naked and Zoom.

This year I got to celebrate Turkey Day with some of my favorite people; my second honorary family.  Delicious food (and I mean DEE-LICIOUS!) and Great company, (And I do mean GRRRREAT!), and lots of fun.  Of course we jumped on the bandwagon making our very own Mannequin Challenge (in one take, mind you!)  I’m beyond thankful for that wonderful Peterson clan.
