♥LIST: March Edition...

"If you notice the instances under which people gather in large groups in coliseums and stadiums it usually have to do with contention, competition, rivalry, partisanship. The Festival of Color stands out from those events because there's none of that competition or rivalry or sectarianism. People are gathering together, just about celebrating our own spirituality and creator from whom we come. We're all basically the same. There's unity in diversity. Underneath all that-- there is a natural outpouring of love."

Relive the love HERE and HERE and see you there next year!

I refrain from griping about how stupid it is that it's closed on Sunday... I will just stay positive and praise this gorgeous two billion dollar addition to Salt Lake City. After five years in the making, City Creek Center has brought a fantastic energy and buzz to downtown that has been severely lacking ever since the Olympics left town. But come to think of it, working across the street from an H&M could be dangerous. Maybe one day less of shopping is a good thing... No... its' still dumb. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood Monday through Saturday. Apparently it's not breaking the Sabbath however to stop in for Cheesecake Factory; which didn't take the seventh day off to rest.

Lawdsy, thank heavens I scored tickets to see the Sister on her final Sundee night performance of her hit one-woman show (well, two if you count Dartsy)... which was so good it's run was extended not once, but twice; Otherwise I would not have been so lucky. Dottie Dixon is a local icon, and I'm not sure if we'll be lucky enough for any future shows, but if we do... I'm so there! And you should be too! A special highlight was when she called my friend Jeff on stage to test his 'Spanish'. He did well enough to earn an autographed copy of her book The Mormon Kama Sutra. Landsamercy! Love ya Sister!

I would like to apologize to anyone I've been neglecting in regards to rounds of Words, Hanging and/or Scramble With Friends. There's a new iPhone game obsession in town and it's name is Draw Something. (Think iPictionary!) Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I'm a really good drawer. So, channel your inner artist and hit me up and lets draw... something.

I have to be honest, I had very little interest in seeing this 80's TV-show remake, but after hearing many positive reviews, I quickly changed my mind. Admittedly my instincts were off. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this action packed comedy. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill had fantastic chemistry, and left me laughing out loud as they went uncover in high school, and I went along for the fun wild and crazy ride.

Of course I had to check out Madonna's latest album; it's just a requirement. And while I liked it, sadly I didn't LURVE it. Maybe I've been put off by the Material girl personally (the anti- hydrangeas rant to the Me me me (me me) speech at the Golden Globes has been quite off-putting, no?) But common she's Madge! It's not my favorite album, but there are some good tracks (like Turn Up The Radio) and definitely earns a spot on the list. For the record however, Lady Gaga's album did rank higher. Just sayin.'

I have a huge girl crush on one Ms. Charlize Theron (back off) and she's never been better as she was in Young Adult. (Well, at least until Snow White and the Huntsman comes out anyway.) She plays Mavis Gary, a newly divorced fiction writer who returns to small-hometown in Minnesota, looking to rekindle a romance with her high school ex-boyfriend. (Oh... who is now happily married with newborn daughter.) One review I read said it best. "Filled with pain disguised as comedy, it presents a real-life Peter Pan complex where letting go of one's youth is complicated and painful." There were parts I was literally squirming... but that just goes back to my girl Charlize, and just how brilliant she really is.

Best. Commercial. Of. The. Year.
Watch it HERE.

If you remember I mentioned Yuksek's totally-fun beyond-creative mirror-image music video on last month's Love List... (#12) so I decided to check out the rest of their latest album. I'm pleased to report that Living on the Edge of Time was easily my album of the month. I played over and over and over again. At work, at home, even when I was going to sleep. Good thing that music video did them justice and earned themselves a new fan!

For the record I was on the TEAM NEEDLES train long before any of you bitches even knew who she was... and I still am. I have to admit, I was a little worried she'd be a one-goth-note... but baby, she proved me wrong. She's definitely has the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent... and I can't wait for her to take the crown of America's Next Drag Superstar... barring any unfathomable upsets. (See: Pandora Boxx; Season 2)

This month I finally got around to seeing this American version of GWTDT; the dark edgy thriller, based on the best selling novel. Mara Rooney kicked so much ass as the pierced, motorcycle riding, computer hacker, Lisbeth. And you can never go wrong with Daniel Craig, now can you? Man, it was really good, it actually made me want to read the books and excited for the next film in the series.

I have to admit, I could learn a lot from this girl. If you haven't watched this home video making rounds on the Internet-- check it out HERE. I'm sure you'll see what I mean.

I do not enjoy Shrek...whatsoever.
But Puss, on the other hand... I quite enjoyed.
What can I say, I'm a sucker for cute kitty cats and boots...
...and things that are 100% Mike Myers free.

Sorry but it's about to get all Sarah Maclachlany up in here. Grab some tissues and watch this touching video about a blind stray pooch that was fortunate enough to be rescued by this fantastic charitable organization. It's great to see people with big hearts out there that are working to make a difference in some of life's neglected critters. Now head on over to their website and make a donation, just like I did. Our four-legged friends are the epitome of unconditional love. Lets return the favor!
