LoveList: April Edition...

In the midst of working on #13 (See: below), my trusty It's-not-really-that-old-is-it? Mac's screen froze up on the permanent spinning pinwheel of death.  In a panic, I rushed it to the computer hospital-- and while initial tests were promising, further diagnosis revealed it was terminal.  His video card had gone out.  (Replacement parts are not offered for machines of his age.)  I had to put him down.  We had many good years together.  I hope he's having a great time with Steve Jobs up there in Apple Heaven.  Needless to say, a replacement was essential-- so a week (without a computer!!) later I got my shiny new iMac, I promise to give him a really good home and enjoy his company for years to come!

Sheeee(zus)'s Back!!!  Even though her album doesn't technically debut until May, it's been streaming online for a week or so now.  And has been on steady repeat for me that entire time. Just give her that Pop Princess crown!  Favorite Tracks Include:  URL Badman, Hard Out Here, L8 CMMR, Our Time and Silver Spoon.  (Officially drops May 6)

   Selina Meyer 2016

Based on the the true story, Oscar nominated Philomena tells the story of a young Irish teenager who got pregnant out of wedlock.  She was forced to give up her son up for adoption.  In following with Irish-Catholic church doctrine, she was forced to sign a contract that would never inquire into his whereabouts.  After starting a family years later in England and, for the most part, moving on with her life, Lee meets a BBC reporter with whom she decides to discover her long-lost son.  Being a child of adoption myself, this one hit home. Make sure to have the Kleenex's handy!

Words cannot properly convey how much I love this collaboration between Scandinavian pop stars Robyn and Röyksopp!  It's straight out of the gates as a strong contender for Song of the Summer.  (Now if only their upcoming joint world tour came here, I'd be an even happier camper.)

'Meat' of the Month.
Couldn't get enough in my mouth.
Nom Nom Nom.

Toni & Candace, Kath & Dave, Peter & Nance, The Sanitation Twins, Fred & Carrie, Nina & Lance, Bryce & Lisa, Spike & Iris and the rest of Oregon's quirkiest characters are back  for another season and still Keeping Portland Weird.

From American dream to corporate greed.  The Wolf of Wall Street is based on the true story of Jordan Belfort and his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.  I can see now why Leo and Jonah were getting all that Oscar buzz.  Very well deserved!

Why am I only now getting into Amy Schumer!?  (Ew, not like that!)  Her raunchy sharp Comedy Central sketch comedy show is friggin' hilarious!  Here's 5 more reasons you should be tuning in with me!

Bitchy Naomi   >   Crazy Tyra

It's  What day are you reading this?
at  What time are you reading this?

When my Grandma passed away she left hundreds thousands of priceless photographs, pictures and Polaroids behind; many of which we'd never seen, or at the very least forgotten about. I took on the monumental task of somewhat-organizing them and uploading them in one place online for all of the family to enjoy.  It's gonna take a while to get through all of it, but if ya fancy checking out some adorable pictures of yours truly... Click HERE.

I admit Joan & Melissa is totally staged and clearly (at least loosely) scripted for the most part, but that doesn't mean it's any less entertaining.  Joan can do know wrong.  Plus, I totally teared up at the genuine sadness when she lost her long time pup Max.  Those are the kind of things you can't fake.

#TBT Grandma Bernice Edition...

Dear Family,
I've been going through the thousands (of unorganized) photos and Polaroids that Grandma Bernice had collected over the years and am slowly uploading them online for all to enjoy. Check back regularly for all the retro memories as it'll be updated as often as I can.

LoveList: March Edition...

Under the sea.  Under the sea.
Darling it's better, Down where it's wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day,
Out in the sun they slave away.
While we devotin', Full time to floatin'
Under the sea!

The Grand Budapest Hotel recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune -- all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing continent.  "Typically stylish but deceptively thoughtful, TGBH finds Wes Anderson once again using ornate visual environments to explore deeply emotional ideas." (RT)  It's easily my favorite Wes Anderson flick yet!  Check in today!

Perfect for gym workouts, long commutes, cleaning the house or just anytime you want to listen to the latest from one of the original queens of pop.  Fantastic new album filled with ear candy. Favorites tracks include: Into the Blue, Sexercise, Kiss Me Once and Fine

With the help of a friend, I self-diagnosed myself that I've been suffering from Plantar Fasciitis for the past while, but it has progressively been getting worse.  He recommended this amazing green Super Feet shoe inserts after a doctors recommendation and personal painful foot experience. Thus saving the day, or rather days.  I don't know how I would have survived without them. Thanks Charlie!

The toughest meanest harshest judging panel on any Reality TV competition is back to critique the ink in Season 4 of this Spike TV favorite.  Oh and Hi there Chris Nunez!

Drag superstar Coco Peru (you may recognize her from last month's #9) had me in stitches this month with her she-larious Let's Play Grand Theft Auto 5 viral video.  Watch here slap smart phones out of Griffith Park visitors, hire hookers, take pictures of Muscle Beach bodybuilders and more HERE Now I need some Tension Tamer.

Yay science!

American Hustle tells the story of brilliant con man, Irving Rosenfeld and his equally cunning and seductive British partner, who are forced to work for a wild FBI agent.  He pushes them into a world of Jersey power-brokers and mafia that's as dangerous as it is enchanting. A New Jersey political operator gets caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irving's unpredictable wife could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down. American Hustle defies genre, hinging on raw emotion, and life and death stakes.  "Riotously funny and impeccably cast, it compensates for its flaws with unbridled energy and some of David O. Russell's most irrepressibly vibrant direction." (RT)

... Or was this my favorite viral video of the month.
#OurPresidentIsAwesome
Watch it HERE.

Admit it, you came for Danny Roberts (Yes, that Danny Roberts)
...It's okay. So did I!

Inside Llewyn Davis follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles-some of them of his own making. (Here kitty kitty!)  It may been unjustly overlooked during awards season (For shame!) but I loved it!  "Smart, funny, and profoundly melancholy, Inside Llewyn Davis finds the Coen brothers in fine form." (RT)  Plus, as an added bonus, it comes with a pretty killer soundtrack!

I first heard of this band late last year from a song they had on the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack.  I loved it, but with their latest release of Voices the electric rock duo are my Official New Band Discovery of the Month!  Favorites tracks Include:  Fall In LoveHowling at the MoonBlack Out Days and Nothing But Trouble.

The world is a big ol' crazy interesting place and documentaries give us an eye into that as they entertain and inform. This month I binged on all kinds of topics ranging from Titanic to Tonya Harding, in addition to a whole bunch of fantastic gay docs.  If you have Netflix be sure to check out the Documentaries section.  It's one of my favorites.

After completing Season 2 a while back, I needed a zombie break.  Well, this month I dove back into The Walking Dead's Season 3 with both feet.  Mega late night Netflix binging to the max.  The hashtag #JustOneMoreEpisode never rang so true.

Uncle Casey Watch | Spring Break Date...

The girls had their Spring Break this week, so we had an Uncle Casey n' Niece date in Salt Lake.  We checked out the brand new Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (along with the rest of Utah) followed by lunch at IKEA. Of course, I got the swedish meatballs!  The girls had a blast.  As did their Uncle.
