Sis..

Happy Birthday Shanna!

Best wishes for your new year ahead!

Be My Guest...

No better way follow-up post-birthday out-of-town getaway than to have a long time friend James have an all day layover in my home-city.  We met up with Jeremy, and hit up all the usual spots.  Lunch at Ruths Diner, site-seeing downtown and drinks at the Sun Trapp. What a fun Monday indeed.  Ya'll come back now, ya hear!

It's My Birthday. I Was Born This Day...

Wrapping up my Vegas getaway with Mother Monster at her sold out ArtRave concert at the MGM Grand.  Fantastic show!  Even better when she wished me a Happy Birthday! (2:00 mark)  What an amazing weekend indeed.  #BestBirthdayInAges.

Nom Nom Nom...

If you ever find yourself in Las Vegas be sure to check out the Wicked Spoon (in the Cosmopolitan).  Talk about some serious food porn.  I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. (again!)  And don't get me started on the Dessert Bar!   #BestBirthdayinAges

Pool Boy...

It's may day.  You'll know where to find me.

Summertime Radness...

I got plenty of adorable photos from my kiddos on their annual family Summer vacation.

By all reports, it is confirmed-- they had a blast!

Uncle Casey Watch: July...

Aren't my kiddos just the cutest?!

#MitTheShit...

Who knew anything about post-Vet cat aggression?!

Well I do Now!

My Mo...

I had noticed my boy Mo seemed to be lethargic and drooling for a few weeks, so I took him to the vet only to discover some sad news.  Several of his teeth were in need of being pulled.  Mo got praise from the vet (and technicians) for being a handsome and a brave good kitty.  And then we got home, when the real challenges began...

Dad...

Happy Birthday Dad!

Best wishes for your new year ahead!

LoveList: June Edition...

Yes, I'm aware it's only June, but it's not to early to declare Lana del Rey's Ultraviolence as my Album of the Year.  This isn't an exaggeration, it has been on a constant loop since it was released.  Again, not kidding.  Repeat. Repeat. Repeat... Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.  She surely case a spell on me.  Listen to the whole glorious album HERE.

I did my best to not binge. I really did... and everyone's favorite prison dramedy's second season lasted a full week!   (Yes, I did stay up until 3:00AM to watch the final four episodes.) No sophomore slump here.  So if you've been living under a rock, dial up the Netflix and enjoy 13 amazing addictive episodes of Piper, Alex, Red, Crazy Eyes Suzanne, Taystee, Nicky, Sophia, Pennsatucky, Daya, Morello, Poussey, Gloria, Janae, Big Boo, Yoga Jones, Vee, Soso, Rosa, Black Cindy, Sister Jane, Flaca, Pornstache, Bennett, Caputo, Figueroa, Fischer, Healy and Larry.  Just be prepared to binge, even if you don't want to!  Litchfield or Bust.

Angelina Jolie IS Maleficent.

I haven't sat in a hair professional's chair for nearly a decade... if not longer. When I finally decided to treat myself this month, I took my bushy beard  to Ray's Downtown location. Barber extraordinaire Logan did an amazing job taming my face fur.  I highly recommend them and I'll definitely be back, 'cuz this beard ain't going anywhere, anytime soon.

Thanks to my new adapter, entertainment went from...

Good To

GREAT!

Two of this month's most viral videos featured some talented boys dancing and some clever (al be it somewhat depressing) 'boys' singing. First up, strap on some heels and bust a move with Arnaud, Yanis Marshall and Mehdi for a fieeeerrrrce Beyonce Medley. (Nearly 10 million views in 2 weeks!)  Werq fellas!! (You may also recognize them as finalists on Britain's Got Talent.  Secondly, Paint is back to tell us what happened After Ever After: 2 to the likes of Cinderella, Elsa, Mulan and Tiana.   It's not always Happily Ever After after all.

Watch them HERE and HERE.

Here's to learniyng!   &Laughfing.!!!!

St. Lucia is one of my favorite band discoveries of 2013.  Imagine my delight when I learned that they just released a Deluxe version of When The Night, with three new songs! Forgiveness, Cold Case and Out Tonight.  (I had to give Lana a mini-break from her ear candy domination this month.)  Plus St. Lucia's coming back to Salt Lake City in the Fall. I'm hoping to go see them live!

I have to admit that Bob's Burgers wasn't even on my radar until I saw that Vulture named it, their Year's Best TV Comedy.  Here's a part of what they said...

"[This] great Fox comedy about a family-run burger joint snuck up on people. It’s much quieter than its Sunday-night time-slot companions... but over the last few years it has come to feel like the heart and soul of the evening. Every now and then there’ll be a flurry of cinematic daring, such as a Hayao Miyazaki tribute, ridiculously drawn-out slow-motion action sequence, or a musical number scored like a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta and cut like a Russian constructivist montage. But for the most part the animation is charmingly simple — like the late, great King of the Hill, it truly is a sitcom that just happens to be drawn. " -Vulture

So one lazy Sunday, a Netflix account and a marathon later I can say I'm finally now an official fan of Louise, Gene, Tina, Linda and ol' Bob!   Now pass me a burger!

No H8!

Victory!

Continuing the trend of mind blowing viral music videos that leave you asking...

"How'd they do that?"
...No matter, the writing's on the wall...

It's freaking rad!

Watch it HERE.

I can't remember the last movie I purchased for myself.  Even if I try to think back real hard. That changed this month, when I picked up my copy of Wes Anderson's brilliant The Grand Budapest Hotel on DVD. Front-runner for my favorite film of the year.  I'm already a repeat guest and will be checking in often!

In case you missed John Oliver's epic take down of Dr. Oz (yuck!), Hobby Lobby (yuck!) or Uganda (yuck!)...  You're really missing out!

Perfect Ten...

This month marks my 10th Anniversary of meeting some of the most amazing people in my life. Thank you Jeff for sharing your siblings, your nieces and nephews and your mom with me over the past decade. I’m fortunate enough to consider them my second family.  “I just love all their little guts!"

Birthday Girl Bling...

As per tradition, on one's 5th birthday my nieces get their ears pierced.

By all reports my fearless fire cracker didn't even flinch.

"It didn't even hurt one bit."
