The boy who loves Disneyland finally got to go back... And had the BEST time ever!
Who loves Disneyland the most? Me, that's who!
Well... We Got IT!
Note to self: After nine long years away, the triumphant return of Valerie Cherish is here...
I DO want to see that!
When my friend Greg called and asked if I wanted to go see SOHN that evening (with opening act Wet) at the Urban Lounge, I first thought, "Who?" And then decided to be spontaneous for once and just go! Well, I discovered two new favorites that night. London-based songwriter and electronic musician SOHN blew me away with his beautiful voice. (Quite androgynous, reminded me of Annie Lenox) and Wet was equally entertaining. Favorite sets include: The Wheel, Artifice, Lessons and Tremors. And not to forget Wet's Don't Wanna Be Your Girl.
It was literally the Month of the Mockingjay! "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 sets up the franchise finale with a penultimate chapter loaded with solid performances and smart political subtext, though it comes up short on the action front." (RT) I can't wait for the finale with Part 2! This film also gave us Jennifer Lawrence: Chart-topping Pop Artist with the hauntingly beautiful Hanging Tree; of which, I am obsessed! (Seriously, is there anything she can't do?!) And then there is the Lorde-heavy (which is a good thing!) soundtrack. Favorite tracks include: Lorde's Yellow Flicker Beat, Ladder Song and Meltdown in addition to Tove Lo's Scream My Name, Chvrches' Dead Air and Charlie XCX's Kingdom.
Before there were parenting blogs, trophies for showing up, and peanut allergies, there was a simpler time called the '80s. For geeky 11-year old Adam these were his wonder years and he faced them armed with a video camera to capture all the crazy. (IMDB) Dude, I'm like wiggin' out! How did I miss out on this like totally tubular and rad family sitcom's first season!? Like, Oh my God. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it browsing Hulu. And no duh, Wendi McLendon-Covey is like totally bitchin as the hilarious to-the-max Mother-Of-The-Decade, Beverly Goldberg!
An aging, booze-addled father makes the trip from Montana to Nebraska with his estranged son in order to claim a million-dollar Mega Sweepstakes Marketing prize. "Elegant in its simplicity and poetic in its message, Nebraska adds another stirringly resonant chapter to Alexander Payne's remarkable filmography."(RT) Also, feisty and funny June Squibb is beyond perfection, and earned that Oscar nomination at the age of 84! Bruce Dern also deserved his too!
Let's go back to Disneyland for a bit. It truly is such a sight to behold. Everywhere you look! Visual stimulation around every corner. No, I'm not talking about the plentiful holiday decorations filling the park... the other eye candy! Who knew there were so many pretty papas and dashing dads?! I had mentioned the Instagram account: DILFSofDisneyland a few months back, but it was even better experiencing with my own peepers! It really is the Happiest Place on Earth. Time to plan my return visit!
Lovable Grandmas Paula, Dorothea and Deirdre have never smoked pot. So they gave it a try (legally) with hilarious results. Once the started playing Cards Against Humanity, I officially lost it!

Not all Sequels suck!
Everyone's favorite Norwegian electronica duo and Robyn co-collaborators are back with November's official New Album of the Month! Favorite tracks include: Monument, Rong, Running To The Sea and I Had This Thing.
The Park is Open! The amazing trailer(!), the creative website(!) and yes, Chris Pratt(!!!) are just what this long time Jurassic Park obsessed super-fan needed to get pumped up for his return to Isla Nublar. Can it just be June 12th yet?
Ugggghhh...Thanks to stupid baseball, I had to wait until November to get some new episodes of everyone's favorite animated family! (Sorry Simpsons!) Bob, Linda, Tina, Gene and Louise are back. Alriiiiiight!
I have been visiting the Dentist a few times this past month getting everything back into order. My new dental assistant, Heather, convinced me to Treat M' Self to the Sonicare toothbrush. I had some apprehension about the price, but I gave in and my teeth are sure happy I did. Totally worth the splurge. So fresh and so clean... Happy mouth. Smile!
Live. Die. Repeat.
Live. Die. Repeat.
Live. Die. Repeat.
Live. Die. Repeat.
Live. Die. Repeat...
(Even my known distaste for Mr. Cruise didn't keep me from enjoying this entertaining, clever and exciting Sci-Fi thriller! And duh, Emily Blunt!!)
