♥LIST: December Edition...

Thanks Santa!  I was very, very, very very good this year!

Based on the novel written by Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is about 15-year-old Charlie, an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love, the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs. The introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors, Sam and Patrick, who welcome him to the real world.  If you've read this far into my text, you deserve the spoiler that this was easily my favorite movie of the year!  I simply adored it!  Be sure to check it out when it arrives on DVD!

I'm a big fan of holiday themed episodes, especially those from my youth. I still remember the Full House where the Tanners get stuck in an airport on Xmas Eve, or the Home Improvement where Randy and Brad stole money from charity.  (My brain is weird like that.) This year's Happy Endings jumped to the front of the pack of Christmas favorites!  It had it all...  Eggnog addiction, present un-wrapping fetishes, hip-hop Santa and even a couple Jurassic Park jokes. If you're not watching this show, you my friend are missing out. Catch this laugh riot of an episode on Hulu while you can!

This month he made the Love List!
...and he's not the least bit impressed.

I must admit, Catwoman kinda steals the show

Ellie Goulding's latest pop album provided some refreshing relief from the steady stream of Holiday tunes coming from all my gadgets this month.  I'm especially in love with Anything Can Happen.  (It made my Spotify Top 50 Singles of the Year playlist)  I've decided I officially have a thing for female Brit singers.  They always get my attention and serve as some fantastic ear candy!

I don't like to advertise that I am Walmart customer, but sometimes it just has to be done. This month the new store opened (in the former K-Mart building) on Parley's Way.  I can honestly say that not all Walmarts are created equal.  Sparkling clean, never a wait in line (even during the Holiday shopping season), U-Scans, and a surprisingly friendly and abundant staff; it has a very neighborhood vibe.  I don't mind going a little further out of my way for necessities.  The crappy downtown location is all but on the banned list.  Just don't too many of you shopping here, I want to keep this my little secret.

Even Dragonette got in the holiday spirit this year,
and I was jammin' to this jolly tune all month long!

Did you know that every one's favorite drag momma RuPaul released a holiday album way back in 1997?  Neither did I until this year, but thanks to the Spotify discovery I was able to enjoy some campy fun holiday tunes with a drag twist, when I needed to take a break from the traditional tunes of the season.

Zombies were huge this year!  (I'm still gagging over The Walking Dead!)  So, it was only inevitable that the genre spread to animated kid flicks. A misunderstood boy takes on ghosts, zombies and grownups to save his town from a centuries-old curse in  Paranorman.  Plus, you know I'm a sucker for stop-motion animated features. They're ma favorite!

Sometimes you just really need a HUG
(And people say that the World Wide Web is all bad.)

I love year in review wrap-ups.  Every 365(-ish) days I look forward to JibJab's recap in particular. This year's was extra creative celebrating the humor, fun, highlights and lowlights at the crazy year that was.  Watch it HERE.  "The End is Near, but thankfully we're still Here!

If you're not cool enough to get an invite to the hottest party or just too lazy to head to the club-- Watching the dashing Silver Fox and his firecracker of a co-host ball-drop countdown on CNN is the best way to ring in the New Year.  And yes, champagne is still required!  Cheers bitches!

Picking up them from school...
Creating Christmas crafts...
 Renting Redbox flicks...
Baking enough cookies to make Cookie Monster puke...
This month I got to enjoy some major quality time with my nieces
...and it's been delightful!
I love being an Uncle
