With so much riding and the stakes so high-- pretty much everything went right.
(Figuratively speaking of course!)
I originally caught the first two episodes of TWD Season 2 back when they originally aired, but then I lost that ability to watch them live. (Sad face!) Flash forward to this month, with many kudos to Netflix: Instant Watch, I breezed through it over one brain-busted, blood and guts, action suspense filled weekend. Now I just have to find a way to see Season 3 which just wrapped up. This show is so bloody good. I need my zombie fix.
Critically acclaimed series Girls has been on my radar since it's debut this past Spring. Thanks to HBO-GO app, this month, I finally got to check it out. It follows aspiring writer Hannah after her parents announce they will no longer financially support her (as they have done since her college graduation two years prior.) Left to her own devices in Brooklyn, she and her friends navigate their twenties, "one mistake at a time." I can now see why it racked up all that praise. The show is fantastic. The new season returns in January. I can't wait to see what drama the girls get into next.
I can't tell you how many times I've driven by this joint on 1300 South, but never gave it a second thought. After popping in for a celebratory drink after my last day a few weeks ago, Lucky 13 has quickly become one of my favorite places in the city. Easily the most delicious burgers around! If you live here, or ever in the area, be sure to check it out and chow down one for yourself. Nom nom nom!
Spike TV's Ink Master features contestants competing to be America's best tattoo artist; now in it's second season. While Tattoo Nightmares follows three clients with fugly, jacked or otherwise WTF-were-they-thinking! ink getting professional cover-ups. The results are stunning. Plus, I have a huge crush on Tommy! (who you may remember was the first runner up on Ink Master: Season One.) All this buzzin' has me itching to get back to the parlor soon. In the meantime I'll just be watching the art happen via my TV.
Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, "Joe" Manganiello and Alex Pettyfer are male strippers in this surprisingly deep yet charming movie. Need I say more?
I thought it was going to be impossible for Ru to top last season's awesome Drag Droid Construction trailer for Season 4. Well never fear squirrel friends. Season five's Goddess theme promo is pure sickness! I already have a few favorites, but excited to see if they pan out and who eventually snatches the crown. (My early hunch on Sharon Needles was spot on last year, must I remind you!) Now bring me my girls... January can't come soon enough! Watch it HERE.
She's not your average Disney Princess, and that is a good thing. Feisty, independent, and brave.. Princess Merida is determined to make her own path in life; someone who I could totally appreciate my nieces looking up to; even if she is technically responsible for accidentally turning her mother into a giant bear (with the help of a witch's spell.) Pixar has done it again! Brave is one stunningly beautiful trip to Scotland not to be missed!
I'm muh-muh-muh-muh mad about this song!
I love and adore her as April on Parks and Recreation, and she brings her charm to this sweet indie flick in which three magazine employees head out on an assignment to interview a guy who placed a classified ad seeking a companion for time travel.
I've concluded there is a global conspiracy to keep me fat.
Well played Nabisco! Well played!
Calvin Harris + Florence Welch = Amazing ear candy.
(Nike, you were right!)
The rest of the album is really good too!
My girl crush Emma Stone and her real life boyfriend Andrew Garfield were fantastic in this updated tale of Spidey. You could totally sense their chemistry! Which might explain why I preferred this version over the Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst version from 2002. Another great super hero movie to come out this year!
It's that time of year again! Time to bring out all the holiday themed DVDs. (I've realized I've acquired quite a few now!) Anyway, Arthur Christmas is the story about Santa's youngest son, who attempts to save Xmas for one overlooked little girl... all before dawn breaks December 25th. I loved the modern twist on the tale on how efficient Mr. Claus has become today at delivering presents to children all over the world. I found a new holiday classic to add to my list and enjoy with the girls.
Speaking of Christmas, I stumbled upon this enormous center for all things holiday, decoration, and yes Hobby related. I can see myself spending a lot of time (and money) here. This place is amazing.
