The dream of John Hammond is alive and thriving.
Dr. Grant, My Dear Dr. Sadler...
"Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. Inventive, gorgeously animated, and powerfully moving, Inside Out is another outstanding addition to the Pixar library of modern animated classics." -RT
"Season 3 begins with Caputo's new regime in place which appears to be kinder and gentler than the women are used to and some of the staff begin to become disillusioned. Later; a bed bug infestation causes tempers to flare, a new spiritual leader emerges, Daya goes into labor and much more. Thanks to its blend of potent comedy and rich character work, Orange is the New Black remains a bittersweet pleasure in its third season."-RT Also, two words: Ruby Rose!
SB Dance's original creation Surrenderella is a new twist on the old fairytale — princess and ball meets slippers, fetish, and bondage. I saw it on closing night, but it promises to come back in the future. And I'm already counting down to that day. We're going, consider this my RSVP.
Several amazing new albums dropped this month. First up, American Idol's Season 8 runner-up (and true superstar) Adam Lambert drops his latest work, and it's awesome! (And side note: he's never looked better! Woof!) Favorite Tracks Include: Ghost Town, Evil in the Night, The Original High and The Light.
I need all the help I can get!
Time to step up and get movin'!

Another Beautiful album that came out this month was from Florence and the Machine. Truthfully, I wasn't sure if I overly liked it the first time I heard it. Then I gave it a second, third... tenth.. twentieth listen... Each time I became more obsessed. Favorite Tracks Include: Ship To Wreck, What Kind of Man, Delilah and How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.
"Susan Cooper is an unassuming, desk-bound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency's most dangerous missions. But when her partner falls off the grid and another top agent is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster. Simultaneously broad and progressive, Spy offers further proof that Melissa McCarthy and writer-director Paul Feig bring out the best in one another -- and delivers scores of belly laughs along the way." -RT
I know I say it every June, but Pride really is the most fun weekend of the year.
And 2015 may have just been the best one yet!
This month I discovered three new (to me) tasty local spots to fill my pie hole! Mellow Mushroom in Sugarhouse, Pizza Studio on Foothill and Stoneground Kitchen downtown; all delicious in their own right. I just love the pizza so much. Looks like I'll be putting Love List #6 to good use for the foreseeable future. Now pass the pepperoni!
I have the need, the need for ink!

At 75(!), disco godfather Giorgio Moroder makes his comeback official with his first album of new material in three decades; all with the help of some mighty famous friends. The likes of Sia, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Charlie XCX all contribute to one awesome collection playlist. Favorite Tracks include: Tom's Diner, Déjà Vu, Right Here, Right Now and Wildstar.
Even though we're only a month in, I'm ready to officially declare...
"Official Song of The Summer 2015."
