LoveList: October Edition...

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen!
Come and see things your eyes won't believe!
It's October once again.  Come one, come all.
(Sure hope you don't have Coulrophobia!)

Amy Poehler is a God(dess) and can do no wrong!
I've been waiting all year for her Memoir and it's been well worth the wait.
(It just dropped a couple days ago and I'm already over half way through finished.)

Treat Yo' Self and splurge for the audiobook!  You'll thank me.

David Fincher's Gone Girl was one of those movies that just stuck with me. I literally couldn't stop thinking about it for days after my initial viewing.  It's actually the first movie in I -can't-remember-how-long that I saw twice in the movie theater.  "Based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn, GG unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (the AMAZING Rosamund Pike!), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did he kill his wife?" -Fox   Definitely one of my favorite movies of the year.

Obsessed.  Obsessed. Obsessed.
Repeat.  Repeat.  Repeat.

An LA family with serious boundary issues have their past and future unravel when a dramatic admission causes everyone's secrets to spill out. "Transparent raises the bar for programming with sophistication and sincere dedication to the human journey, warts and all." -RT   So sign up for your free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime and follow the Pfeffermans' journey.  Warts and all.

Admit it, you're still missing the uh-mazing Happy Endings since it was criminally cancelled while still in it's prime.  Well rejoice because Casey Wilson and the show's creator are back with a new delightfully charming (and funny!) prime-time sitcom Marry Me. It was easy for me to say Yes to. Time to celebrate, but let's just hope for a long TV engagement.  Year of Penny Annie, Y'all!

*And for the record:  No, I can't read the title in my head without hearing Maeby Fünke's voice.

Sure, there were a lot of awesome singles filling my earbuds and speakers this month (See: This List)-- but there was also room for even more sweet ear candy.  Swedish singer/songwriter Tove Lo's debut album Queen of the Clouds got plenty of love.  Favorite tracks include, but not limited to:  Habits (Stay High), My Gun, Moments, Got Love and Run on Love.

A twenty-something comedienne's unplanned pregnancy forces her to confront the realities of independent womanhood for the first time.  "Anchored by a breakout performance from Jenny Slate, Obvious Child is a winning discovery, packed tight with raw, energetic comedy and moments of poignant human honesty." -A24

It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, A beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?... It's a neighborly day in this beauty wood, A neighborly day for a beauty. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?... I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you. I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you. So, let's make the most of this beautiful day. Since we're together we might as well say: Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Won't you be my neighbor? Won't you please, Won't you please? Please won't you be my Neighbors

This clearly isn't the Stephon and Target Lady you remember from SNL.  Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader show off their dramatic acting chops and give a pair of knock out performances in The Skeleton Twins.  "When estranged twins Maggie and Milo feel they're at the end of their ropes, an unexpected reunion forces them to confront why their lives went so wrong. As the twins reconnect, they realize the key to fixing their lives may just lie in repairing their relationship."  -Roadside

Like every other OK GO Video that came before it...
(Seriously, they are so effing mind-blowingly creative, right?!)
Prepare to be dazzled and amazed!  It won't let you down.
Watch it HERE.

No October (and late September for that matter) would be complete without multiple visits from the King of Halloween, a trio of witch sistahs and the creepiest and kookiest family on the block.  It's become my yearly tradition for The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus and The Addams Family flicks to have a constant presence in my life.  Thank God my DVDs are still holding up with all the viewing!  Until next year when it's time to light the black flame candle once again!

With all the online music streaming sites like Spotify, Songza and Pandora, I'm constantly discovering sweet new tunes to add to my playlists.  I'm aware that technically some songs are several years old, but hey, they're new to me!   Here are my favorites this month:

This is Halloween...

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?!
Born, Born to Be Wild!
Yo Ho Yo Ho, A Pirates Life for We!

This Uncle sure loves his kiddos.

They're Creepy and They're Kooky...

...Mysterious and spooky, They’re all together ooky.
They are my Fam-i-ly.

We had to have a quick photo shoot as well (a new tradition) for the Family Calendar.
Benzo wasn't having it, but I did get a few great shots!

Punkins n' Pumpkins...

Uncle Casey's Halloween tradition of carving (and painting) jack-o-lanterns is alive and well.

*I was rather proud at the design I made for Enzo's pumpkin. Do you see it?   The girls came up with their own design.

Mom...

I'm grateful every year that I get to wish my Mom a
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
