iLove.
I've heard great things about this period television series for years now, but something always kept me at bay. (Fear of boredom was one.) I'm happy to report that is far from the case. Like a soap opera straight out of the early 1900's it follows the aristocrat Crawley family and their many servants in the fictional English estate Downton Abbey. Be warned, you may be left wanting to say M'Lord and M'Lady alot once you get hooked (and you will!) I personally can't wait for final season 3 to debut later this year. And if you decide to check it out for the first time check out these Words of Warning first.
Without question, it's the most fun and entertaining celebration that the Beehive State sees all year. (Sorry Day's of 47, it's not even close!) This parade was especially moving with an entry made up of hundreds of mormons showing their support. This yearly tradition has skyrocketed in size and popularity and I look forward to attending each and every year. See ya next year... Same time, same place SL,UTs!
Ladyhawke joined the likes of Scissor Sisters and Marina to become the official Artist of the Month. I am obsessed with her new album... playing it on heavy rotation all June long!
Don't get it twisted, but admittedly, Drag U is no where near as fantastically fierce as the original Love List obsession Drag Race. That being said, it's still a fantastic opportunity for more screen time to reunite with the likes of Sharon Needles, Raja, Pandora Boxx, Manila and all your other favorite gurls. Plus, they helps the down on their luck biological womens get their groove back. Just one more reason to love our queens!
Next time you're down at the "good Target" [i.e. The one in Fort Union] stop by Pizzeria Limone for lunch or dinner. My recommendation is the Viola; (house marinara, aged mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, prosciutto, blackberries, olive oil and fresh basil) It sounds exotic, (blackberries!?!), especially for a small-town-grown boy like myself-- but it was very delizioso ! Great, now I'm hungry again! Nom nom nom.
He's one of the funniest Beings on Facebook.
He cracks me up daily.
Like Him... or he may smite you.
I've always had a thing for SWS (as you should know by now!) and it's good to see he's just as sweet, charming and sexy-- even with black eyes, bloody noses, cuts and missing teeth as demonstrated in this entertaining independent hockey flick.
Best. Facebook. Comment. Ever.
I'm living for it!
My reaction to this movie has been all over the board. I was very excited to see it initially. After we left the theater I was slightly disappointed (mostly because I was highly confused.) But I couldn't stop thinking about it. After reading a fantastic article on "What Prometheus is REALLY About" I settled on, "Wow, that is pretty impressive film making and story telling." (Even if I needed a Prometheus for dummies follow-up. At least I know I wasn't the only one.) I want to give it a second viewing once it's released on DVD, but it's definitely worth a trip to a galaxy far away on this stunning space odyssey. Plus it has my gorgeous girlfriend, Charlize Theron and the fantastic Michael Fassbender.
Oh and THIS is just pure awesomeness. Perhaps even more so than the movie itself.
This month my home-city was extra musical as colorful and artistic pianos were scattered throughout downtown. Presented by the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Play Me, I’m Yours placed nearly a dozen pianos onto the sidewalks for the public to play. PMIY has been touring the globe since 2008, in places such as New York and Sydney... and now lil' ol' Salt Lake City. It was great fun driving around and listening to everyone from children to a very gifted homeless man making sweet music for our enjoyment. An awesome art instillation indeed!
Sheeeee's Baaaaack!!
And just as weird. (Why hello, Mr. Octopus!)...
With her ridiculously long album titles...
And just as amazing as I remember.
I'm definitely a fan of this creative, kooky and gifted artist!
A new catchphrase was born this month, and caught on like wildfire. (Sorry for the pun, I realize we are on FIREWATCH 2012™) With all the stress and craziness I've been dealing with at work lately, it's better than cursing in the office, no? Well no,... but it's almost as fulfilling anyway.
Aye Yigh Yigh!
I rediscovered a favorite from my childhood when Netflix added Jem and the Holograms to it's Instant Play library. This month I may or may not have gotten sucked in with some retro Saturday morning cartoons of my own. But for the record I always thought The Misfits had better songs.
(Don't say there weren't signs!)
Totally outrageous indeed!
