♥LIST: February Edition...

Oh hunty, I've been dying waiting for the latest search for America's next drag super-star, since this sickening teaser started running late last year. The fourth go-around has not disappointed, with yet another killer cast of queens. From the pure-excellence that is Sharon Needles (my absolute fave!!) to the delightful Latrice Royale, even snarky Phi Phi O'Hare has won my heart. Paired with the behind the scenes series Untucked, RPDR is pretty much the best reality show show contest in the history of televised competitions ever. Okaaaaaay?! Can I get an Amen?

From what I can gather this was the movie of 2011 that you either hated or you absolutely loved. I'm checking in with the later camp. From the rad 80's inspired soundtrack to the delicious Mr. Gosling behind the wheel-- I was happy to throw on my driving gloves and buckle in for the ride that is this stylish violent thriller of a film. Vroom!

I first saw this commercial air during the Grammys earlier this month. The animated spot is delightful and moving-- it might even bring a tear to your eye. (Why couldn't the Super Bowl commercials have been this good?) Even though I'm not a patron of Chipolte, it made me want to become one. I guess for an advertiser, mission accomplished! Watch it HERE.

Even though her latest album Ceremonials debuted a few months ago, this month I fully embraced Florence and her Machine. It was on a constant streaming loop around my house from sun up to sun down. If forced to chose just one, my favorite track is "Shake it Out" but they are all amazing. Give em' a listen if you haven't already.

When clips from her reality show went viral, of her enjoying some relaxing medical mary jane (and the high-jinx that followed) I was reminded at just how funny this ol' broad is. I later caught up on a Sunday marathon of J&MKB. Sure some of the set ups seem highly staged, but that isn't to say I wasn't LOL-ing the whole time along Mother and daughter Rivers. Didn't catch it? Watch the (in)famous episode for yourself. [Parts: ONE/TWO/THREE] Great... now I'm hungry. Food truck! Food truck!

You'll laugh.
You'll might cry.
Cancer sucks!
But this lovely movie doesn't.

I never watched it before, but I decided to check out NBC's singing competition's new season, which debuted post-Super Bowl. I was surprised at how fun it was. I'm over the same-old-America's Got Singing Talent competitions any more. I broke up with American Idol years ago. However, The Voice's blind auditions were fresh and the four judges have great playful chemistry. (Hell, Xtina even comes of as likable!) I'm not sure if I'll follow the series as the contest progresses, but for now it's good TV. If there were any question who I'd pick to be my coach... Team Levine for the WIN! (But I'd probably require many, one on one private sessions-- to help elevate my amazing talents.)

If you've ever wondered what went into becoming one of the world's most lovable puppets, be sure to check out this delightful documentary. Cameras follow Kevin Clash's boyhood journey from Baltimore all the way to Sesame Street, revealing how a child's passion became a reality. It's quite an inspiration to see what creativity and hard work can bring forth.

It feels like we've been waiting forever (and ever) to return to the ol' cul-de-sac to hang out with our TV BFF Jules and the gang. Too damn long! Well the hiatus is finally over, so pop a cork and fill your glass... as my friend Jeff so lovely refers to it, "CoTo" is back! If you're not watching this hilarious ABC gem, you better start. You can thank me later. Cheers to that!

This month I frequently utilized Jake and Garrett's Christmas gift to me, providing a healthy snack when the munchies cravings hit. I've learned my lesson... Microwavable=Bad. Besides, popping your own is way more fun! (Even if startled kitties would disagree.)

Love List advises: Whatever you do, Do Not Google: "Hairy dudes with pussies." Way off track. However, just follow this link HERE for photo galleries of furry fellas with their adorable four-legged felines. Mit and Mo totally approve!

Yes, Christmas is long gone but that doesn't mean you can't get a fill of some belated raunchy holiday cheer with your best buds Harold and Kumar. Pass the egg nog Neil Patrick Harris!

Yes, there really is a reality contest for every trade nowadays. Singing, designing clothing, modeling, drag queening, and now even tattooing gets it's own televised cutthroat competition. Some very talented artists show of their skills in Spike TV's latest reality show. Like tattoos themselves, it's very addicting, but I have to wonder... 'Who in their right mind signs up to be the human canvas?' I mean granted, you get to be on TV... and it's a free tattoo (saving one hundreds of dollar...if not more); But it's the rushed 5-hour time limit where a panel of experts judge if your ink is dope or a disaster... is it worth it? Not sure if I'd sign up, but I'd gladly watch others go under the gun. Tommy and Shane are my favorites to take home the top prize!

Even though Homewrecker debuted late in the month (i.e. 3 days ago) it's premiere lead to a continuous stream of Marina play lists as I wrapped up my February. I can't wait until Spring to hear what the rest of her new album has in store. From the songs I've enjoyed thus far, I'm in love! April can't get here soon enough.

Cummon! I wasn't the only one to re-discover some of Whitney's hottest dance tracks in liu of her untimely death this month. Don't pretend you didn't make a playlist of How Will I Know, Queen of the Night or I'm Every Woman and dance around your apartment. Rest in Peace Diva.

Watching this short film made me want to pack my bags and jet down to Rio for next year's Carnival. Filmmakers Keith Loutit and Jarbas Agnelli captured the magic of Brazil's fantastic festival in 2011. By using tilt-shift techniques, they created a magical miniaturized illusion... and I am obsessed with the film's score. The parade and those floats are unreal! I must see it with my own eyes one day. Bucket list worthy, indeed! (Keep your eye out for the shark. It's my favorite.) See it: HERE

What you didn't think I'd forget about these delicious yearly gems, now did you?

FBFeb: Part III...

2|20: Working a handkerchief even way back then.

2|21: High Schooler Casey, hanging out at Grandma Bernice's House. (I had to totally crop this to make me the focal point... not the window and wall behind me. But to be fair to Grandma, it was in the days before digital cameras.)

2|22: Nothing says "style icon" like a tucked in sweater vest. I'm sure I was the most dapper boy in Primary.

2|23: After a full day of packing, an impromptu Von Dutch photo shoot (notice the hats?) broke out during Sam & Emily's big move from Vegas in 2007. (Followed by a midnight run to the grocery store, followed by a post-midnight barbecue.) Shenanigans!
It's hard to believe that that is now considered a "Flashback", was it really five years ago?

2|24: The Hide and Seek Master!

2|25: Brothers in Jammies. Yup, the one's with the feet.

2|26: In honor of Renee's Birthday today; Remembering one of my first trips to The Trapp in 2000. (She since reminded me that this was the day I broke some big news to her. Sorry girl. Maybe in another life!)

2|27: Don't bug me... I'm 'Puzzling.' Also wearing my favorite shirt of my childhood.

2|28: Casey Jr. in 2002

2|29: As a child I was always caught running around in my undies.. or in my birthday suit.

2|10:
Kimber, Jake, Tonya and Garrett celebrating my 2002th birthday.

2|11: I lurved that horse!

2|12: I believe this was my first day of First Grade. Notice the rad kicks.
I still have the same ones (albeit much larger in size!)

2|13: Time for bed, sleepy head. (1979)

2|14: In honor of Valentimes... a trip to the '96 Senior Class Sweetheart Ball.

2|15: Sitting in my new rocker on my 1st birthday.
Brylee and Sadee still enjoy that chair today!

2|16: Riding a bike across the Golden Gate Bridge should be on everyone's bucket list. I did in 2008.

2|17: Only the finest quality of '78 baby accessories.

2|18: Marty and I during a family vacation vacation through the Southwest.

2|19: Family photo at my cousin's wedding. Tweenlicious.

FBFeB: Part I...

It's time of year again! Take a journey back and get a load of some vintage Casey. No time machine required for the Third Annual Flashback February. Blast off!

2|1: Turn Me-Crank Me-Beep Beep Mobile, circa 1979.

2|2: We spent 2-weeks of Summer of '88 in Nashville for my dad's work trip.
This family photo was taken at the Opryland Hotel.

2|3: Wrapping up my first year of college as a blonde in 1997.

2|4: An Eighties Lava Hot Springs family getaway.
Complete with He-Man towel and rainbow flip flops.
(Don't say there weren't any signs.)

2|5: This is what an adorable 4-month old looks like; circa '78.

2|6: Striking a pose in our La Quinta motel room,
on a family road trip in the mid '80s.

2|7: My first ever known drag photo; wearing my mom's nightgown.
Werq!

2|8: Class of 1996! Freshly graduated and receiving a Grandma Bernice quilt.

2|9: I tried out for Pipsqueak in the 3rd Grade Nutcracker, and got it!
(That was a kindova big deal for a very shy boy in 1986.)
